The Adult Education Program provides assistance that helps Missouri adults become productive workers, family members, and citizens. It is designed to provide adults with the opportunity to acquire the basic skills necessary to function in society and continue their education to at least the level of completion of secondary school.
Day time classes are Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 am until 5:00 p.m. at the SWFLC - North (Charleston) location. Night classes are held in Charleston on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. Online learning is now available, learn from home or utilize our computer lab. Classes are free of charge and there is open enrollment. We offer one-on-one tutoring or assistance from a computer based instruction learning program (PACE).
SWFLC can provide transportation to our location in Charleston for adult education classes. Anyone wanting to sign up, should call (573) 233-8391 to get started. Students will go through an intake and orientation process before they can be tested. The TABE test will determine placement level and strengths/weaknesses of each student. These tests give the instructors valuable information on how to best reach each student.
We like to take every opportunity to acknowledge and praise our students for their efforts to succeed academically.
